Yes, at any time from inside your account. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated; downgrades start at your next billing period so you keep what you paid for.
Yes — 1 zone, 100 records and 800K queries a month, with no card required and no time limit. It does not include DNSSEC, Time Machine or the recycle bin.
On a paid plan it goes to your recycle bin and can be restored for the number of days your plan allows. On the free plan there is no recycle bin, so deletion is permanent — the panel tells you this before you confirm.
On every paid plan. Signing is a single action and we handle key generation and rollover; you copy the DS record to your registrar once.
Yes. Import a BIND zone file, or add the records by hand, then repoint your registrar at our nameservers. You can export at any time too.
Every plan can create the seven types that run a website and its mail.
| Type | What it is for | Free | Starter | Growth | Business | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | A name to an IPv4 address. The record that puts a website somewhere. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| AAAA | The same, for IPv6. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| CNAME | A name to another name. Not allowed at the zone apex. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| MX | Where mail for the domain goes. Lower priority wins. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| TXT | Arbitrary text — in practice SPF, DKIM, DMARC and domain verification. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| NS | Delegation of a subdomain to different nameservers. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| SRV | A service, its port and its host. Used by SIP, XMPP and some Microsoft services. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| ALIAS | Apex flattening — behaves like a CNAME but is allowed at the zone apex. | — | — | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| CAA | Which certificate authorities may issue for the domain. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| PTR | Reverse DNS. Only useful where you control the reverse zone. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| DNAME | Redirects an entire subtree of names, where CNAME redirects one. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| SSHFP | SSH host key fingerprints, so a client can verify the host from DNS. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| NAPTR | Rewrites a name into a URI or another name. Mostly telephony. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| URI | Maps a service name straight to a URI. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| HTTPS | Connection parameters for HTTPS — HTTP/3, IP hints, apex aliasing. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| SVCB | The general form of HTTPS, for services that are not the web. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| RP | A responsible person for the name. Informational. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| DS | Delegation signer — links a signed child zone to its parent. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| TLSA | Certificate pinning through DNS. Only meaningful with DNSSEC signed. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| SMIMEA | The same idea as TLSA, for S/MIME mail certificates. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| HINFO | Host hardware and operating system. Informational, rarely used. | — | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
