Create the zone in your account first, then change the nameservers at your registrar to ns01.kumodns.com through ns04.kumodns.com. Doing it in that order means there is never a gap where nobody is answering for your domain.
We publish to all nameservers within seconds, and the panel shows you when each group has it. What takes longer is the rest of the internet forgetting the old answer (DNS propagation), which depends on the TTL that was set before you made the change. This may take up to 24 hours for some servers worldwide.
