Accounts are created from the plans page or directly at the portal's sign-up form. You need an email address you can receive mail at — the address is confirmed, and it is where password resets and billing notices go.
The free plan needs no card
The free plan hosts one zone with 100 records and 800,000 queries a month. There is no card required and no time limit — it does not expire into a paid plan and it will not start charging you.
What it does not include: DNSSEC signing, Time Machine history and the recycle bin. Deleting a zone on the free plan removes it permanently and immediately.
Paid plans include a 30-day trial
Every paid plan carries a 30-day trial before the first charge. Your card is stored to start the subscription, and the trial runs from the day you begin it.
Choosing a plan now is not a commitment
Plans can be changed at any time from inside the account:
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated, so you pay the difference for the rest of the current period.
- Downgrades start at your next billing period, so you keep what you have already paid for.
If you are not sure, start on the plan that fits today. See Changing plan.
After signing up
The account starts empty. The next step is adding your first zone — and note the order that matters: create the zone here before you change nameservers at your registrar, so there is never a gap where nobody is answering for your domain.
Do add one before long: an account that holds no zones for six continuous months is terminated, with a month's warning by email. What happens to an empty account has the detail.
